Review 'Frost Line' by Linda Howard and Linda Jones

https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/30121161-frost-line
A riveting, imaginative new novel of paranormal romance from bestselling authors Linda Howard and Linda Jones.

Lenna is Strength, a manifestation of the Tarot card, and powerful beyond reckoning. But when she's pulled into the human realm, tasked with protecting a young boy, everything is thrown into chaos. Lenna's not supposed to be here, interacting with mortals. She's definitely not supposed to be drawn to the sexy mercenary sent to retrieve her by any means necessary . . .

As a Hunter for magical beings, Caine's duty is simple: return this compelling, impossibly attractive woman-or eliminate her. Instead he's drawn into Lenna's dangerous rescue mission and blindsided by his growing feelings. But there is more than one enemy to contend with. And as the clock runs out, failure means not just the loss of an innocent life and the woman Caine has come to love, but the destruction of Lenna's entire world.

My Review:

Since I really love Paranormal Romance, I was super excited when I received an email about ‘Frost Line’. When I read the words Tarot, and magic I knew I needed to read this book. I used to love reading books about Tarot cards and magic. And it had been a very long time since I read any books involving those two things.

‘Frost Line’ is a very easy to read book. The writing is easy to follow, and the story is not to complicated. Although the whole manifestation of a Tarot card still sounds a little ‘too’ much to me, I liked getting to know the characters in this book with their ‘powers’. Especially Lenna’s character.
Lenna finds suddenly finds herself on Earth. A little boy called Ethan is suddenly all alone, and he is so scared that he somehow summons Lenna. Although Lenna can’t stay long on Earth, she is determined to help the little scared boy. But soon there are ‘Hunters’ out there, searching for Lenna. And not all of them are good.

I enjoyed reading ‘Frost Line’ but I did miss some action. For a  very long time not much was happening in this book. And to me it became a little boring because of that. I kept on reading because I wanted to know how this story would end, but I really missed action and a little more depth.
I also didn’t really like the male main character Caine. He just was a little to rude for my taste. And I could have gone without the whole ‘first time traveling with an erection part’. I really didn’t like that part at all. What does it matter to know that little bit of information?

At the end of the book I still had a lot of questions. This, on the one hand, makes me want to read more books in this series but it also left me feeling a little frustrated. ‘Frost Line’ is definitely one of those books that I can’t really say I liked, but I also didn’t dislike it. Maybe I have to think about it a little more. For now.. three stars.
