The Sunday Post #43: Life

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ Its a chance to share news ~ A Post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

Life:

This week has been a strange one for me. In my last night shift this Monday I had a bad experience with one of my patients which really shook me. As a nurse you never know what a work day will bring, and working on a Traumatology ward definitely is never boring. Criminals, old people, young people, psychiatric people, we see them all. But this patient was out of the blue very aggressive. That situation lasted for hours and I felt very unsafe. And I have been struggling with that situation this week. I haven’t been able to sleep well and I can’t seem to stop thinking about it. I have had different conversations about it with people from work, and slowly on I’m feeling better again. But life has been mostly very uneventful since I’ve been to tired and sad to do much else. It did made me realize even more how lucky I am with my fiancé. He really is my rock!

But the one great thing about this week was that I finally got to try my wedding dress on again. And it was even more beautiful than I remembered. I can’t wait to show this pretty dress to everyone. Two weeks from now I have to go back for a final fitting and then my dress is ready. Yeah!! :D

This week we will have a tasting at our wedding location and I’m going to the Harry Potter expedition that started in The Netherlands this week. I’m super excited. I think it will be a good week, and hopefully I’ll sleep a little better too.

Ow.. and it’s snowing again! Everything looks so pretty!

Books & Blogging:

Since I haven’t been able to sleep much this week my concentration hasn’t been as good too. So unfortunately I wasn’t able to concentrate on my reading as much as I wanted too. I did finish one book, started a new one and did some blogging. But I planned on visiting more blogs this week, and that didn’t work out. I hope to visit you all more this week. But I hope you guys bear with me if not.

  2. Wow, what a traumatic event! That takes me back to some of my social worker experiences and the unexpected (or maybe not all that surprising) events that happened.

Hope it was a one-off that you won't experience again.

I have the Lauren Graham book...I want to read it soon.

Thanks for sharing...and have a great week.

  6. So sorry to hear you had to undergo such a horrible situation - it seems monumentally unfair that people like you who are on the front line with wanting to help are often threatened and injured by those they are trying to assist:(. Glad you were able to try on the dress and have someone in your life who cares. I hope when you get to it, you'll also find The Turn another treat - I LOVED this one. Have a much better week, Maureen. My Sunday Post - https://sjhigbee.wordpress.com/2017/02/12/sunday-post-12th-february-2017/
