Review 'Twilight' by Stephenie Meyer

https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/41865.Twilight
About three things I was absolutely positive.

First, Edward was a vampire.

Second, there was a part of him—and I didn't know how dominant that part might be—that thirsted for my blood.

And third, I was unconditionally and irrevocably in love with him.

When Isabella Swan moves to the gloomy town of Forks and meets the mysterious, alluring Edward Cullen, her life takes a thrilling and terrifying turn. With his porcelain skin, golden eyes, mesmerizing voice, and supernatural gifts, Edward is both irresistible and impenetrable. Up until now, he has managed to keep his true identity hidden, but Bella is determined to uncover his dark secret.

What Bella doesn't realize is that the closer she gets to him, the more she is putting herself and those around her at risk. And it might be too late to turn back ...

Deeply seductive and irresistibly compelling, ‘Twilight’ is an extraordinary love story that will stay with you for long after you have turned the final page.

My Review:

I've been a huge fan of the Twilight Saga by Stephenie Meyer from the very beginning. I read the book the first time, before the second book even was out and I loved it. It was one of the first books I read about vampires, although I already enjoyed the 'good vampire' concept because of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. And ever since I read 'Twilight' the first book, I've read the complete series multiple times. But I never did in the last three years since I had my blog and I somehow never wrote a review about it. Since I was in a desperate need of a Twilight re-read I decided to finally write my review about one of my favorite book series.

The thing I love about 'Twilight' is how 'normal' the main character Bella is. Ever since I read the book the first time I felt really connected with her. Bella is down to earth, never really felt connected with people her own age, and she enjoys reading and is good at her school stuff. I could have easily been Bella. Of course the whole Vampire bit isn't really possible, but it still sounds like a possibility, at least for the most part. And even after all these years, I still get this exciting and thrilling feeling when I read this book.

Edward Cullen is just one of my favorite characters. I love his charm and the way he loves so completely and passionately. He is kind of old school and that makes him just all that more swoon worthy. The way he talks, the way he thinks. I just adore him. There's also this mystery about him that makes him even more irresistible if you ask me.

In 'Twilight' we really get to know Bella, Edward and the complete Cullen family. Stephenie Meyer did a great job writing this first book if you ask me. There are a lot of things explained in this first book, but there is still this mystery which makes you want to keep on reading. This first book still makes me feel like that. Even though I already know what is about to happen. This makes 'Twilight' kind of age less.

The best part about 'Twilight' to me is the moment Bella and Edward are at the meadow. They are for the first time, completely and utterly honest with each other. In that moment I completely fell in love with Bella and Edward's story. I loved them before, but that moment made me a hardcore fan for the rest of my life. I honestly thought this moment could have been much bigger and more important in the movie, but that's another discussion. LOL!

I loved re-reading 'Twilight' again, and I'm definitely going to read the other books in the series again. Sometimes we just need the comfort of old friends, and reading this series totally gives me comfort.

  4. You know I always tease about not liking sparkling vampires [becasue I really though that was ridiculous!] BUT leaving that aside I did LOVE this series. Reread the books and rewatched the movies MANY times. Though... I was team Jacob becasue my love for shifters and aversion to sparkling fangers ;-)
I WAS SO PISSED AT BELLA for choosing Edward over Jacob ;-)
